Thank you for your presentations! I enjoyed every one of them and I hope you did too.
On Monday we worked with our "Cultural Icons" as well as with an article, which you read and discussed briefly.
Tuesday 6/10 we continued with our presentations, and also practised our listening skills with a part of Obama´s back to School speech, and two songs.
If you missed any of these classes, please get in touch with your classmates or me through my email for more details and handouts, as this blog seem to shrink uploaded material, such as pictures.
By Monday 12/10 you should have read chapters 1-7, in Freaky Green Eyes and made some comments in your logbook. Please bring both (logbook and book) to class on Monday. There will also be five new members to our class joining us then.
Have a great weekend.

We worked with chapter three in "Solid Ground", and spoke of the upcoming oral presentation called "My Cultural Icon". I also handed out the book we will be reading this term, "Freaky Green Eyes" by Joyce Carol Oates. You should by Monday 5/10 have read the first three chapters and also worked with the assignments given to you, i.e the booklog. Please bring these to class.
You will find a short glossary of the first chapters under "handouts", have a look at these. Remember to look up words that you don´t understand, this will increase your vocabulary and give you a better understanding of the text.

This blog is created to be a source of information for students in FR1TU English class (Martins group). You will find information about what we have worked with during class, handouts and some (hopefully) useful links. Use this blog to catch up if you for any reason missed a lesson. You will also find some general information about project deadlines and dates for tests.

Hi all and good work today!
If you missed todays class this is what we worked with:
Presentations, we worked in pairs introducing eachother briefly.
I presented the book that we will be reading this term, Freaky Green Eyes by Joyce Carol Oates. You will write a logbook while reading the book and answer some study questions. More about this on Tues. 29/9.
Our upcoming oral presentation "My Cultural Icon" where you shall present a person, living or dead that you feel is a role model in some way. I want you to decide on the person by Tues. 29/9. Presentations will begin on Mon. 5/10 and I want all students ready to do their presentation by then.
We worked with two writing exercises; One about our feelings towards the english language, what we see as our strenghts and weaknesses and one about why we think (if we do think so) that it is important to study english.
Handouts from the lesson will be available shortly.
On Tues. 29/9 we will start working with chapter 3 in your textbooks, discuss the text and also work on some grammar issues. We will also start this terms book project, Freaky Green Eyes.
